LOVE ME, NOT MY RACE

This post belongs to Shernell Pather, one of the journalism students at Midrand Graduate Institute. She has something to write about with regards to interracial relationships among students.  According to Henry Adams  "A teacher affects eternity, he can never tell where his influence stops". I am hoping that my encouragement would help her to do more writing, and perhaps she will find her own voice with time. Enjoy.

It is the personality that counts and not the appearance of a person. However, the colour of one’s skin can change that perspective when it comes to interracial relationships.

Society has different perspectives about interracial relationships especially when it occurs in high schools and universities, when one gets attracted to a person of a different race.

The older generation has different thoughts when it comes to relationships, they often encourage dating within the same race, and they expectthe younger generationto accept these thoughts as a kind of custom, but to most students in universities race is insignificant when it comes to matters of the heart.

Sample of interracial relationship

Some people believe that babies born from interracial relationshipsare likely to avoid genetic diseases arising from homozygous which is common with parents belonging to thesame race group. Among other reasons - interracial relationships wouldencourage people to not judgeone another.
The youth of today should have a broader mind set when it comes to relationships. They should be free to go into relationships with whoever they love regardless of their racial backgrounds.
Please feel free to comment with regards to your thoughts on interracial relationships.
Cheers!

Even the culture has play its role in affect people who want to start a relationship. I really hope your post inspire people to stop looking at the color of the and focus more on what is inside the person's heart.
