GIVE GOD YOUR BURDENS

I am generally a happy person, but recently I have been so stressed and troubled in my body and soul. This was because I found out that someone I knew very well stabbed me in the back with words - yah! It was just words, but the words pierced through my soul and left me with a burden of anger, hatred and vengeance.

But this morning I have a different feelings, and it was a feeling of faith in God the most high. I realise that there is nothing that can happen to humans without the approval of God who resides 'upstairs' in heaven.

I came to my senses and renew my faith in God. In my present state of mind, faith is trusting that God will settle the accounts with those who have been unjust and unfair with me. The psalmist David wrote: " Cast your burden to the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righeous to be moved" (Ps. 55:22). No one travels the road of life without being affected by injustice at one time or another.

But the worst thing that can happen to you is to develop victimitis. Victimitis is carrying your grudge and nursing hurts. This only produces a whole new batch of emotional demons to torment your soul! Resentment, anger, self-pity, and even vengeance become a mixed-up recipe for messed-up feelings.

If you walk the walk of faith, there will be times when you'll be treated unfairly. At such times, you can be assured that God can handle the injustice a lot better than you can.

You have the faith that He'll settle the score in a way that will be helpul and not hurtful to everyone concerned. So don't carry the grudge like I did for many weeks, bury it. God knows how to pull the weed without killing the flowers!

I was reminded that God understands my opponents, adversaries, and enemies a lot better that I do. God knows how to turn an enemy, back-bitters and haters into a friend, too!

If you are reading this post, hang in there, your joy is near.

Stay blessed.
